PLACER WINE & ALE TRAIL : NEW & COMING SOON

By all means, be loyal and support your favorites but also be adventurous and endeavor to explore something new.  As the latest Placer Wine & Ale Trail Map & Brochure has now been released, here are some of the highlights – focusing on what’s new and coming soon to The Trail.

Auburn

The Alehouse Annex (a spin-off of the well-known Old Town brewery and restaurant) has opened up across the street from its namesake with a rustic modern vibe and amazing wood fired pizzas to pair with several rotating taps and a stellar wine list! Krudo, brought to you by the owners of Tap & Vine will open up this Fall in the old Bootleggers building, also in Old Town. Just a stone’s throw from Old Town, you’ll find a new local hotspot, Mikki’s, where local wine and brew are abundant alongside a house made seasonal menu that’s got something great for everyone. Downtown has a slew of new restaurants on the horizon as well – pick up local produce and craft deli items at The Natural Trading Company or indulge in fresh baked goodness for breakfast, lunch or dessert from The Baker & Cakemaker. Station Public House just broke ground this summer and Fall 2019 will bring us some great new lunch and dinner options with the much anticipated Restaurant Josephine (from former Carpe Vino chefs Eric and Courtney Alexander) and Southern BBQ small bites and spirits will be the theme at The White House when it takes center stage on Maple St. bridging the gap between Old Town and Downtown.

Granite Bay

Quarry Ponds Town Center is not only home to the well-known Hawks Restaurant but also hosts a great weekly farmers market and two new wine & ale hotspots – Sacramento craft brewhouse New Glory has opened up a Taphouse & Eatery and just next door is Chef Daniel Cote’s farm to fork establishment, Oakwater Bistro where you’ll find local wines and a fresh, seasonal menu.

Lincoln

Check out Double Barrel Smokehouse’s new location in the old Beerman’s building downtown, along with Old Town’s Pizza’s new, bigger location just a few blocks away and right next door, Placer’s newest addition to the Trail, the much-anticipated Slice Brewing. Over Twelve Bridges Way, you’ll find Fourk Kitchen and coming soon, Firecyde Craft Cider House.

Loomis

This small town has a lot all packed into just a few blocks along Taylor Rd.’s historic fruit-packing sheds – Gander Taphouse makes it’s home in the Blue Goose Fruit Sheds and just down the street in the old Star Liquor building new owners are working to open Pine Star Brewing. Also, be on the lookout for ground to break sometime in 2020-21 for Loomis Cannery, a new public market-style partnership from the owners of High-Hand and Loomis Basin Brewery.

Roseville

Roseville is also experiencing a revitalization of sorts in it’s Vernon Street District – “garagisteLynch Wines has opened a tasting room just down the street from new taphouse and eatery Goose Port Sports Bar & Public House. Also, Range Kitchen & Tap has great small plates and flatbread along with local beer and wine.
